The Hilltop Cruiser turns your stay at Hilltop Haven into a true lake escape, waiting at Hilltop Haven's private pier and ready whenever you are. Just step aboard to cruise Sylvan’s five connected basins, swim, fish, stop for a lakeside dinner, and enjoy the kind of easy lake day that becomes everyone’s favorite part of the stay.
THE BOAT
The Hilltop Cruiser is a classic 24' Harris-Kayot pontoon, Indiana-built and well cared for. Comfortable, clean, reliable, and ready for a full day on the water with your whole group.

- Capacity: 10 persons / 1,445 lbs
- Motor: 2014 Tohatsu 50 HP Four-Stroke — quiet, fuel-efficient, and dependable
- Seating: Wraparound bench seating for up to 10, plus captain's chair
- Swim access: Polished stainless steel swim ladder
- Shade: Bimini top for sunny afternoons
- Safety gear: 10+ USCG-approved life jackets (including children's sizes), throwable flotation device, marine fire extinguisher, anchor with rope, first aid kit
- Fuel: Full 5-gallon Rec-90 backup gas can included
- Season: March through November, weather permitting
EXPLORE SYLVAN LAKE
Sylvan is a full-recreation lake with five connected basins and sixteen miles of shoreline.
- Cruise the basins past wooded shorelines, beautiful lake homes, and weave through the many islands of the lake
- Visit the popular sandbar in the lower basin — anchor up and let the afternoon happen
- Dock at Dock's Landing restaurant and grab lunch on the water
- Hike Boy Scout Island via the public dock — a one-mile loop through nearly 100 acres of forest
- Fish for walleye, bass, perch, bluegill, and channel catfish
- A valid Indiana fishing license is required for all anglers. The DNR actively patrols Sylvan Lake.
- Watch for blue herons, egrets, sandhill cranes, swans, and bald eagles
- Watch the sunset from the water at golden hour
HOW IT WORKS
- Submit an inquiry on the book now page or reach out directly to us. We'll confirm availability and send you a custom quote based on your Hilltop Haven stay dates and desired rental length.
- Once confirmed, sign the short rental agreement and liability waiver (e-signature, about two minutes), upload your ID, and pay your rental fee and $350 refundable security deposit through our secure booking link.
- If you're renting the Hilltop Cruiser for your entire Hilltop Haven stay, the boat will be at Hilltop Haven's pier when you arrive. If you're renting for part of your stay, we'll coordinate a drop-off time with you directly.
- The Hilltop Cruiser is exclusively yours for the duration of your rental. Come and go as you please, sunrise to sunset each day.
- When your boat rental ends, please return the spare 5-gallon gas can filled with Rec-90 fuel, leave the boat docked at the pier, and return the key to the lockbox. No trailering, no ramp, no drop-off needed.
Note on fuel: Rec-90 is available at the Marathon Gas Station in Rome City, just a short drive from the property (it's marked on the Lake Map). The can comes full at the start of your rental; please return it full. Failure to do so will result in a $50 refueling charge against your security deposit.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Primary renter must be 25 or older and present for the entire rental period
- Valid driver's license required for all operators
- $350 refundable security deposit hold, released within 7 days of return
- Sylvan Lake only — the boat does not leave the lake
- No boating before sunrise or after sunset
- No towing, tubing, or water skiing
- Life jackets available for all ages; children under 13 must wear one at all times
- Operator sober at all times
