Some of our guests' favorite memories happen not at the house, but out on the water. Lazy mornings fishing off the bow. The whole family jumping in for a swim in the deep, open water. Cruising slowly through Sylvan's five connected basins, taking in miles of beautiful shoreline and the classic lake homes that line the water. And at the end of the day, a slow ride home as the sky turns gold over the far end of the lake.
 
We deliver it to your pier before you arrive, walk you through everything you need to know, and it's yours for as long as you've booked it. No marina calls. No public ramp. No schedule to work around. Just untie the lines and go.
 
THE BOAT
The Hilltop Cruiser is a classic 24' Harris-Kayot pontoon, Indiana-built and well cared for. Comfortable, clean, reliable, and ready for a full day on the water with your whole group.

- Motor: 2014 Tohatsu 50 HP Four-Stroke — quiet, fuel-efficient, and dependable
- Seating: Wraparound bench seating for up to 10, plus captain's chair
- Swim access: Polished stainless steel swim ladder
- Shade: Bimini top for sunny afternoons
- Safety gear: 10+ USCG-approved life jackets (including children's sizes), throwable flotation device, marine fire extinguisher, anchor with rope
- Fuel: Full 5-gallon Rec-90 backup gas can included
- Season: March through November, weather permitting
 
EXPLORE SYLVAN LAKE
Sylvan is a full-recreation lake with five connected basins and sixteen miles of shoreline.
 
- Cruise the basins past wooded shorelines, quiet coves, and classic lake homes
- Visit the popular sandbar in the lower basin — anchor up and let the afternoon happen
- Dock at Dock's Landing restaurant and grab lunch on the water
- Hike Boy Scout Island via the public dock — a one-mile loop through nearly 100 acres of forest
- Fish for walleye, bass, perch, bluegill, and channel catfish
- Watch for blue herons, egrets, sandhill cranes, swans, and bald eagles
- Watch the sunset from the water at golden hour
 
HOW IT WORKS
  1. Request the Hilltop Cruiser when you submit your booking inquiry, or reach out anytime before your arrival — we'll confirm availability and send you a quote based on your dates and rental length. Booking the pontoon for your entire Hilltop Haven stay? Ask about our Full Stay Discount.
  2. Sign the short rental agreement and liability waiver (e-signature, takes about two minutes) and pay your rental fee and $350 refundable security deposit through our secure booking link.
  3. The boat is at Hilltop Haven's 84-foot private pier when your rental begins. We do a brief in-person orientation at delivery — required for all renters. We'll walk you through the motor, safety gear, fuel, and our favorite spots on the lake.
  4. The Hilltop Cruiser is exclusively yours for the duration of your rental. Come and go as you please, sunrise to sunset each day.
  5. When your rental ends, please return the spare 5-gallon gas can filled with Rec-90 fuel, leave the boat docked at the pier, and return the key to the lockbox. We take care of the rest — no trailering, no ramp, no drop-off needed.
 
Note on fuel: Rec-90 is available at the Marathon Gas Station in Rome City, just a short drive from the property — it's marked on the Lake Map. The can comes full at the start of your rental; please return it full. Failure to do so will result in a $50 refueling charge against your security deposit.
 
WHAT TO KNOW
- Primary renter must be 25 or older and present for the entire rental period
- Valid driver's license required at orientation
- $350 refundable security deposit, released within 7 days of return
- Sylvan Lake only — the boat does not leave the lake
- No boating before sunrise or after sunset
- No towing, tubing, or water skiing
- Life jackets available for all ages; children under 13 must wear one while underway
- Operator sober at all times

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $50.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
